            Custom-made Ceramic
            and Glass Components

            Duratec 750® Machinable Ceramic

Duratec 750® is a calcium silicate based material which can be easily machined and will operate up to 1000°C. The material is particularly useful where a high temperature, thermally insulating component is required. It also has good electrical insulation and arc resistance.

The material is relatively soft compared to sintered ceramics and some other machinable ceramics. However, as long as a minimum thickness of around 6mm is maintained, the material is rigid and offers a highly cost-effective solution for many applications.

We hold a range of rods, bars and plates in stock ready for quick delivery and specialize in the supply of finish machined Duratec® components.

A further grade of Duratec® material is available, Duratec 1000®, which is approved for use within the food industry.
